Tire Turned Ottoman
J & I have recently gotten really in to furniture flipping. We could spend hours combing through garage sales, flea markets, and the free section of Craigslist searching for awesome items that need some lovin'. As in most things, we're each other's perfect balance. J is so good with people, so buying and selling come easy to him, while I am more hands on and take charge in the creative process.
My very first project idea was met with quite a few raised eyebrows.
I decided to attempt to turn some rope, a couple spool tops, and a tire into an ottoman. I know... the man working at Home Depot gave me the same look you're probably making right now. It ended up being one of the most rewarding DIYs I've ever done and the thought that all these materials were saved from ending up in a landfill is just a bonus.
I started it on a Sunday afternoon, on the floor of my apartment, while watching Witches of East End (RIP). By Sunday evening I was in full-blown pout mode because I had run out of rope and it was looking amazing and Home Depot was closed. By Wednesday afternoon, I had decided that I was a strong independent woman who don't need no man, and had lugged out the power tools. By Saturday morning, my kitty was snuggled up on top of it, claiming it as her personal seat and I was busy admiring my handiwork.
I love how it came together and I am proud to announce that it is now available for purchase here on Chairish.com! I can't wait for my Tire Turned Ottoman to find it's forever home and I hope someone gets as much joy out of it as I did creating it.
