Sheet Music Dining Table
I have no idea where this table came from. This dining table is the great mystery of mine and Jerry's marriage. I thought it had been his since before we started dating, he thought it was a hand-me-down from my mom. Either way, it had been our dining room table through two apartments for the last six years right up until we started using our gorgeous Farmhouse Table that I painted last fall. Since then, it has sat in our garage. I tried to give it away a couple times, but no one seemed to have any use for it.
I really don't think there was anything inherently wrong with it before. It was just a plain table, but it could have used some love on the table top due to years of use.
However, next weekend, my mom and I are participating in The Vintage Faire at Bungalow 215 in downtown Sparks, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to breathe some fresh life into this table so it could go brighten someone else's day in their home.
I really like working with mod podge. It kinda reminds me of doing paper mache in elementary school. It's messy but the results are just so cool. This is only the second project we've ever used mod podge on, the first being our little guy's Comic Book Dresser that we completed for his Super Hero Bedroom last year.
When all was said and done, we were so excited about how amazing the table looked. It took a few hours to dry and cure and then we sealed it to protect it while it serves another family during many future meals.
I'm so excited for the Vintage Faire and to have The Makery's first-ever sale event! Keep an eye on my Facebook for updates on what pieces will be featured!
