4 Days of Christmas Wreaths: Peppermint Candy Wreath (day 1)
The day after Thanksgiving, my mom & I entered a Christmas craft faire. She makes these really beautiful ornament and Santa Christmas wreaths and I really wanted to try my hand a few modern variations. This wreath is made entirely out of peppermint candies. It was so super simple and only took me a couple hours. My only regret is that I didn't get a better photo of it before the craft faire!
- Foam Wreath Form (I used a 12")
- 8 yards of red ribbon
- Starlight peppermint candies
- hot glue gun
- spray sealant pretty red sparkly ribbon (I found mine at the dollar store)
The wreath is incredibly simple to assemble. Start by wrapping the ribbon around the wreath form, hot gluing every couple inches to keep it from slipping off. Once it's completely covered, begin gluing the candies onto the form. I glued it in sort of a brick-laying pattern and avoided the back so it would lay flat against a door. It's either super monotonous or super therapeutic to glue all those candies, but either way I wrapped it up in about 3 hours. Once it's completely covered, seal with a spray sealant and let dry. Top with a bow!
