Saint Patrick's Day Leprechaun Picnic
I get a kick out of making a big deal out of little holidays that typically go unnoticed (don't even get me started on Earth Day). Last year, I sent J on a treasure hunt around town where "The Leprechaun" had left small presents and surprises. This morning, we awoke to find that The Leprechaun had struck again! Written on the bathroom mirror were the words "Prepare for Shennanigans and Malarkey! xoxo, The Leprechaun". The Leprechaun had clearly decided to relieve himself while in our guest bathroom, as the toilet water was also green.
All the excitement had left us famished. Luckily, the Leprechaun made mini green pancakes for breakfast. These were made by adding a few drops of green gel food coloring, and then using a shot glass to cut out tiny green circles out of cooked pancakes.
But, the real fun came in the afternoon. I left to "run errands" and, instead set up a Leprechaun Picnic for J. I put together some picnic food essentials in a picnic basket with a card:
I spread "gold" (spray painted rocks) along a trail that lead to a gazebo from our front porch. Then I set the basket on the porch, rang the doorbell, and took off running. Check out the video below for a full account of the afternoon's shennanigans as told by Snapchat. Haha!
I hope you had a wonderful Saint Paddy's day with your loved ones. Stay lucky!
