Cute & Organized Baking Cupboard
Okay, this may be a neat freak post, and I may be a little eccentric about having an entire cabinet dedicated to baking, BUT I love it. I keep opening the door just to look at it. I mean....
LOOK AT IT!
You know I love to bake, so when we moved in, I realized that I hated how messy it was. I was constantly buying things I didn't need because I didn't realize I already had some lurking behind other items. You may notice that there are 2 cans of baking powder up there on the top shelf. They're both full and completely unnecessary. That clear tub is a pathetic attempt at keeping little things from getting lost, but it's also the reason I have 4 tubes of yellow food coloring but no red. Oh and the empty clear container? Purchased with the best of intentions but sitting there empty for probably a good year. It's a mess! You can see the sad sad before picture below...
I started by picking up these snap on containers from Amazon for a steal at $9.18 for 4. What I love about them is that they are air-tight, solving my never-ending battle with the brown sugar that always seems to dry out.
I also picked up these vinyl chalkboard labels, that I have since used to label pretty much everything you can imagine (wait til you see my garage). There's 36 in a pack and they're only $8.
I snagged some mason jars from the grocery store for the smaller powders (baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and corn starch and then picked up this set of 6 spice jars for $9.99 for sprinkles!
I also used command strips to hang my measuring cups and spoons, and created a baking conversion chart (which is a life saver!) out of black poster board and a white chalk marker.
I'm so obsessed with how it came out, I immediately sent a photo to my mom, my husband and then nagged him when he got home to tell me how good it looks... he thinks I'm a crazy person for sure.
