Sweet Mulled Wine
Mmm. Nothing says fall like cinnamon and brown sugar and liquor.
I made this sweet mulled wine one fall afternoon a few weeks a
go while we painted our halloween pumpkins and I’m not even that ashamed to admit that I drank 3 glasses of it. It was warm and comforting and tastes amazing, not to mention it made my whole house smell like Fall and happiness. My favorite wine in the work is Moscato Di Asti- mostly because it tastes like juice, so of course I used a moscato instead of the usual red.
- 1 bottle of red moscato
- 2 cups of cider
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 oranges sliced up (you can save a few slices for garnish if you want to be fanc-ay)
- 3-5 cinnamon sticks
- a shake of pumpkin pie spice
Let it simmer in a crockpot- I put it on low for about 45 minutes and then just turned it onto warm. Don’t let it boil or all the alcohol will boil out…THE HORROR.
